Updata One is dedicated to providing educational and career opportunities to young people who are just beginning their professional paths.

One of the ways we do that is by supporting the Recursive Academy, a remarkable program that teaches digital storytelling. Updata One had a marketing intern from the Recursive Academy, and we are more than excited to share her thoughts about the whole experience with the company.

Victoria Ikonomova

As mentioned earlier, we are excited to share the quick interview we had with Victoria Ikonomova, our Marketing intern from the Recursive Academy. She talked about her experience with the company, her most valuable lessons, and her future plans.

What did you learn during the internship?

During my internship at Updata One, I learned a lot about the work dynamic in the marketing department, I had the opportunity to attend an event, meeting many inspiring and successful people talking about the problems of disinformation and how technologies can help us, my mentor showed me how to work with some of the platforms (such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, etc.), I learned more about AI and its benefits, I also learned how important it is to work in a great team with friendly and helpful people.

What was the most interesting situation/challenge you faced?

The most interesting thing during my internship was definitely the event we held, “Technologies vs. disinformation“.

It was an insightful event that motivated me to be more curious. I wouldn’t say I faced any challenges because my marketing team was great. If there was something wrong with my work, they were always there to help and show me how it should be done. I never felt pressured or insecure, which is crucial when working with people.

What are your plans from now on?

I am planning to finish my education, and then I might continue working in the marketing field. I hope I can find the silver lining between my passion for journalism and my desire to work in marketing. I am open to new experiences and challenges and looking forward to the unknown.

Anna Tsenova

Our Marketing manager – Anna Tsenova, also shared some thoughts on the internship at Updata One.

Anna Tsenova is the marketing manager of Updata One, a community of companies that specialises in the information field.

Her background in social media, Google Ads, and email marketing has given her the experience necessary to effectively plan, manage, and optimize marketing campaigns.

Anna holds two Master’s degrees – in Journalism and Media and Marketing. She is interested in the new trends in the digital environment and recently went through the prestigious program “Driving Digital Marketing Strategy” of the world-renowned business school INSEAD.

What did you learn from the intern and what is your major takeaway from meeting Victoria?

Victoria is one of the people who has inspired me to increase my involvement with young people. I am impressed by her energy and willingness to take the initiative.

Tell us a little bit more about the intern.

Viktoria is an incredibly competent and reliable young specialist who has proven that she is willing to take on a variety of tasks. Her speed in responding to assignments and providing high-quality results make her an asset to any team.

What would you like to advise the young people who are heading for a career in the marketing field?

Don’t be afraid to try! You have all the information you need to start your career journey – it is just a few clicks away and starts with a how-to-question. Be curious, be bold, and believe in yourself!
